My wife broke her ankle last week, went through surgery yesterday, and will be off her feet for at least 6-8 weeks. We have a 16-month old son and luckily I work at home but am finding it challenging to keep up with the daily cleaning/housekeeping, cooking, laundry, etc. Not to mention our DC rowhouse has several staircases (how my wife broke her foot in the first place!), and her mobility is entirely limited right now. I'm wondering what I should do as far as hiring help. I would like someone to come in 2-3 days/week and clean, do laundry, maybe some light cooking. I travel frequently for work and might need someone to drop off/pick up our son at daycare, as my wife cannot drive. Is this advisable? Thank you for your thoughts! |
| Sounds like you need temporary full time help for 8 weeks. I say full time because it will be hard to find someone to come in just for daycare pick up and drop off then to come in 2-3 days for cleaning, etc. Advertise exactly what you are looking for but make sure people understand its temporary. |
