I am with a family almost two years. I thought they will need me for two or three years more. Today, she told me I have to find another job. Since, their girls is going to start pre school. I thought maybe they will need me after school care but they don’t want.
I respect their decision and it’s understandable. But finding another job is very stressful for me. Very upset. |
| She probably found someone cheaper. |
doubt it. |
| Op here , I don’t think she found someone cheaper. She is not working so she said she will take care of her at afternoons. In mornings she will go to pre school. |
| I am so sorry, OP. I never found finding another job stressful but I was heartbroken when my last employers sprung the news that my charge would be starting daycare at 2. |
| Op here yes I agree. She just turn two as well |
| So sorry, OP. That really sucks! My only advice is to leave on the best possible note and make plans to see the child after you stop working there. Your current employer will give you a good reference. |
| Day care is a lot cheaper. |
| Hugs, OP. That is far and away the hardest part about being a nanny - leaving the children. |
|
So sorry you lost your job OP, but do not let your bosses know you are upset.
Reason being is that you could definitely use their assistance in securing your next job. I.e., word of mouth, letter of recommendation, phone reference checks, etc. Trust me..... This is one bridge you definitely do not want to burn. |
| Yes, I must need their references for my new position. |
