Where to look for a live-in nanny? RSS feed

Anonymous
White House Nannies said that they rarely place live-in nannies anymore. Care.com has taken the little box off that allows parents to search by live in vs. live out. I can type it in as a search term but then I end up with a ton of people who formerly were a live-in and have it in their description of their experiences, but don't want to be one anymore. And it takes a while to weed through them.

Are there other agencies to use?

I think the problem is that few people have suitable accommodations to offer. Or they want to reduce the hourly rate. Or a host of other issues. You should post here what you need, and what you can offer. And location.

As a live in nanny I find my jobs on care.com. Hopefully the right candidate can find you if you list it in the title that you want live in.

Any national nanny placement agencies are more likely to do it than White House Nannies. WHNs explained to me that DC is predominantly an au pair market for live-in help.

I’ve looked at whn, they have several live-in positions available. The issue is more that they don’t tell the parents they need to raise the rate for experienced live-in nannies, the rates are just too low, and they can’t get enough decent nannies to fill the positions.

Op probably can't afford a live-in nanny, but wants the connivence.
