What is the hourly rate in NWDC for an experienced Spanish-speaking nanny with a good driving record? Is $22/ hour reasonable to start? (would be with registered taxes and paid vacation and potential yearly increases)
Looking to hear both from employers and nannies. Also, what are recommendations for how to ask for documentation of a good driving record beyond asking about frequency and experience with driving and number of accidents? |

I would hope that any nanny had a perfect driving record! But $22 seems in line if she has over ten years of experience and great past-employer references. You won't get a lot of education for $22.
Make sure she is vaccinated (and can prove it) as well as the LONG infant CPR/First Aid certification. |
Why wouldn’t you just request a copy of her driving record ....
How do you request a copy of a driving record? What does that mean, like a government record?
Run a background check to check for DMV records of violations and accidents.
Or ask your prospective Nanny (after the interview) to bring in a DMV printout of her driving record.
Also you can quickly check public records yourself, you can go to the district court websites of surrounding counties like Montgomery , Fairfax , loudoun, and search case records by name. It will show all moving violations the person received. Might not show everything but might give you a good idea. Showed a bunch of speeding tickets for one of our nannies. She didn’t drive our baby but still.
enannysource.com, Is good with background check and driving record. $22 is good for ten years of experience. If its 15+ I would offer $24. If she has education start at $25. Is there any household duties? How many children?
Thanks all! Would be 2 kids, and light housework to include laundry for the family. I am leaning toward up to 24 depending on the experience level of the candidate. And thanks for tips on requesting driving record.
Anyone found a good driving school to offer as a refresher?
