| Why am I seeing more positions advertised for $150-350/week, 50+ hours? I’m not understanding why the number is rising. |
| Yes, it's just you. You must be looking at careless.com. |
LOL @ careless.com I haven’t seen that low (for 50+ hours) but definitely some that I have to shake my head and keep scrolling. |
+1 I’ve seen some people offer $5/hr smh |
| Op here. Actually, I'm not on care atm. It's a couple other sites I use, and nanny poppinz (halfway between a diy site and an agency). |
The sad part is that there are some who will take the job and then those parents will brag about how their nanny is wonderful and they pay him or her $5 an hour. You should at least make minimum wage (whatever that may be in your state) but anything less, absolutely not! You can go work at McDonald’s for more than that + benefits. |
Try care Op. I’ve always been offered a good paying job (nice families) from there, whether it was a nanny position or occasional babysitting. |
| I have good experience with care.com as well |
| I’ve found all my positions on Care. They definitely favor parents over nannies and if there was a nanny run alternative I’d switch over in a second. I like that I can find what I want and have freedom on Care vs agencies which tell you where you’ll interview. Many agencies don’t care about finding decent families anymore. It’s sad. |
