Family seems unreliable about making plans to meet

I met a family last weekend. Everything sounded good. We discussed hours and my rate. We were supposed to meet this morning at the library so I can meet the oldest child. I sent a message to confirm. The mother said she can't make it to the library because she needs to clean. She asks if I can come to their house before 12. I say yes and I will let her know when the library storytime is over and we're on our way over. She says let's just do this another day because she needs to work at 12. I haven't been to their house yet so I'm not sure I can accept the job. I haven't met the 2 year old. They're pulling him out of school so he can be with a nanny. They also have a 4 month old.

It sounds like they are not seriously interested in employing you, for whatever reason. I would pursue other opportunities.

op here. I ended up going to their house today and meeting the 2 year old. I think she's overwhelmed with a baby and toddler. She seems really nice and we're going to do a trial period.
