Hiring a pregnant aftercare nanny RSS feed

Job is not super stressful. Just pick up my 3 yo from daycare and take him home and give him dinner. Cleanup and laundry. She's great, and she's due in July. I think pickup will be stressful with a new baby. I want to give her maternity leave paid. How long is appropriate? I'm paying her $18/ hr.

I couldn't keep a non pregnant babysitter for those hours for more than five or six months anyway. If she doesn't work out after she delivers, it is not unusual

$18 is ridiculously low, OP. Hang on to her as long as possible. Let her see how stressful the job is after she has the baby.

I would give her at least 6 to 8 weeks.

OP, I think your awesome for giving your nanny maternity leave. So many high income MBs who get months of paid maternity leave firentheir pregnant nannies. I wish there were more moms like you!
