I am a nanny and I have been with my current charge since she was born almost two years ago. Today, Thanksgiving, I was off (of course) and first the father of my charge sent me a text wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving and telling me how grateful he was that I was in their lives and especially his daughter's life. Then the mother sent me a text and a video of she and my beautiful charge saying Happy Thanksgiving and I love you. So sweet and so very thoughtful! I was very touched.

I would go to hell and back for this family. I am very lucky to have found them!

Happy Thanksgiving, Nannies!

You are very lucky

My MB and DB would never think to express gratitude or ever give me a compliment like that. You are very lucky, OP. You have found wonderful and generous people to work for. I love my change but honestly dislike my MB/DB.

You are truly blessed to have a family that appreciates you to the highest level.

I'm thankful for my nanny family as well.
I spent Thanksgiving with them and their family (I'm single, don't have family or friends around)

I liked most of the families I worked for, but this one really feels like my family. I've been with them for 4 years (and I've been a nanny for 17 years)

I sent them a text last night saying I had fun and dinner was delicious and they responded that they were happy I was there and I was family to them.
I honestly feel the same way. I love them.

I also spent Thanksgiving with my nf. MR and DB handled all of the cooking and adults, I took the kids out to play in the morning and spent the afternoon/evening having fun in another part of the house. The original contract read that Thanksgiving was off, working Black Friday. Instead, I wasn't lonely yesterday, and today I'm enjoying a day off. I love so many things about my NF. Oh, and I got at least one thank you from every parent at dinner

I did not thank our son's nanny yesterday - and I feel like crap. She has done so much for us and my son loves her. I have a problem expressing feelings sometimes - I hope after four years my son's nanny understands.

You have another chance coming up at Christmas/Hanukkah.

Or just do it without a holiday!

We are away but made a video for our beloved nanny on Thanksgiving. DH and I told her how grateful we are to have her in our lives and that we loved her but my 2 year old took the cake when she said (without prompting) "Oh, Nanny Mary, I love ya - you da best. I miss you! Come here now!"
