... and now MB is in a pissy mood because I said I would not care for a puppy along with caring for a very active toddler and running their home. There is not enough money in the world to get me to deal with a dog at this point.
Tough shit if she wants to pout around about it. She can get a puppy and a new nanny if she chooses. Her decision. |
| Would you care for a mature dog that’s housebroken? Personally, I wouldn’t want to deal with a puppy, but a dog that doesn’t have anxiety issues and is well behaved would be totally fine. |
Not now - no. But it doesn't matter since she wants a puppy. |
|
She has zero right to be peeved that you do not want to be responsible for a new puppy.
That is not what you signed up for. Not everyone is an animal person & she needs to accept this fact. |
|
not your problem. if she really wanted a puppy she could get you a quote for a dog walker and dog trainer and offer to increase your salary by that amount. it would still be within your rights to say no.
she's free to find someone who will do both, if that's her decision. people want to have kids and puppies and have someone else do all the work for them so they can enjoy them in their off time. that's just not how life works. |
| time to quit. This isn't working out anymore for either of you. A successful nanny-family relationship happens with respect and harmony. This is toxic, move on. |
| OP here. I am not going to quit and they are not going to get a puppy. |
| Glad it worked out, OP. I am NOT a dog person and would not accept a job where there was a dog so I certainly would not stay in a job where the family got a puppy I had to take care of!!! |
