Nannies: what's the weirdest/most ridiculous thing you've ever gotten in trouble for with your boss? RSS feed

Title says it all. I enjoy reading the stories and anecdotes.

I have two from the same position: On my first day, MB sent me to the store for a tub of cream cheese. I brought back a tub of Philadelphia brand. She says "um, I'm not sure if you've ever gone grocery shopping before, but when shopping for someone else, you ALWAYS buy the off brand." Hmm...didn't know that! OR the time my 14 year old charge had a period accident overnight and bled a little on her sheets. MB got angry at me and said I should have been keeping track of the last time she changed her pad and should've made sure she changed it before she fell asleep. Ridiculous. That job didn't last much longer.

What are yours?

The cream cheese story is crazy!!
Lol!!
I had no idea that was "common" knowledge.

Wow.

My MB usually cut her son's vegetables in cutesy little shapes for him & she had instructed me to do the same.

I admit....I forgot one afternoon.
Kid didn't even notice, trust me.
But his Mom sure did.

She chewed me out for twenty minutes even though her son was cheerfully munching away.

I ended up quitting soon after.

My MB gives me the silent treatment and acts all moody when I don't do what she wants which is pure pettiness.

I got in trouble for a kid having more freckles in the afternoon than he did in the morning. Sorry, lady, I used sunscreen. The rest is due to your shitty gene pool.

nothing until your the being blamed for them. Mom and dad's genes gave them freckles. If mom hated them so much she counted them and blamed the nanny for it then it's a problem since it's the parents genes that caused them. Don't look for offense where no offense was intended.

If my MB ever started bitching at me over crap like that she wouldn't see me ever again.

This is insane!

If my MomBoss ever intentionally gave me the silent treatment, then I would be out effective immediately.

I let their kid play in the sun that week when they had family portraits the following week. She didn't want the child to be too dark in the pictures.

Threads like this make me feel lucky most of my employers have been sane.

My first MB was just an angry person who I'm pretty sure only hired a nanny so she could control someone.

She yelled at me for not texting her immediately, because I was driving...
