So summer break has officially started, which means a summer schedule for me. MB &a I discussed AM hours per my usual PM hours, and I was happy with the hours, because it leaves free time for me in the evenings to take care of things I've brushed off for months. Things were going great until MB told me the scheduling was a big mistake and we need to change the hours again, because she has things she has to do, and could use my help with the kids at the time. This is not the first time this has happened and it's frustrating as hell! Where is the consistency?!
Common problem on here. I know as my MB thinks nothing of switching my schedule around. Just say you can't work certain days as you have planned other work/activities around it. She would be foolish to be pissed if she is expecting you to drop your schedule for her on a moments notice especially when a proper schedule had already been arranged and agreed.
Yes, it does seem to be a pretty common problem and is really inexcusable on the part of the parent/employer. Stick to your guns for at least the first few weeks and let her redraw the agreement. Then you probably will have to go back to working more hours. Sorry, OP.
