My job has ramped up and I find that I need more help with driving the kids and housekeeping - I have 2 kids who are in elementary school.
In a perfect world I would have someone show up at noon or 1pm and spend a few hours cleaning/picking up/laundry/errand running and so forth, and then pick up the kids from school/camp, drive them where they need to be etc, and I would arrive home in the 7/7:30 timeframe. How would you go about finding this person or staffing these responsibilities? |
I'd advertise for Alice from the Brady Bunch. |
yes this is possible for an older person looking to work an easy housekeeping job. However don't expect much help for the kid's homework or playing with them. |
Advertise for a combination housekeeper/nanny, but you may want to reevaluate your hours. |
To be frank, you need one of each. |
Advertise for full-time and set your hours as noon to 8. That gives several hours for cleaning and errands, and because it's full-time, pay is a little less. You need to look for someone who will have the energy to do the cleaning and running around before collecting the children, but who will also be happy sitting with a book while they are in activities. Try advertising for a combination and ask for rates. |
Maybe this mom should taste her own medicine to see how it tase to her, before asking someone else to drink it. I don't know when this person whom she is seeking is going to get time to go to the bathroom. Because at sometime this person will need to pee. |
You're dreaming. Older women usually aren't wonder women. |
I agree with this as well. However, I'd either pay a high hourly rate or pay more hours than she works. Someone doing that type of work may want full time hours. |
