MB had a stomach bug and I caught it last night. I was vomiting all night and texted MB. Of course, she was 100% understanding and told me to rest, apologized for giving me the bug and offered to send over anything I might need. So that is not the issue...
The issue for me is that it feels weird and I do feel guilty (even tho it is ridiculous). |
I am a nanny - I take care of my charge and her family, not the other way around. |
| MB here. You have absolutely nothing to feel guilty about. |
Ditto |

Yep. |
So what if it is? It is something to be proud of and also true. You can still be proud of something and feel guilty about losing a perfect record. |
|
I think it is normal to feel this way but you need to remember you are important too. You can't care for kids if you are sick and it would be wrong too.
Just concentrate on getting better x |

I agree w/the above poster.
Rest up, kick the guilt & Get Well Soon OP!! I still say you have a stellar record!

what is even the point of this thread?

Martyr Nanny. "I've never called in sick in 7 years, I even had pneumonia and a broken femur but never called in because I'm a professional." Ok, cool. Here's your medal. I use every sick day I get a year, because I deserve them. My employers use their sick and vacation days too. When I puke, I call in and I still get paid well and am fairly well-respected. Why do nannies think never taking sick days means their somehow superior? |
Well, - yes. To never get sick is a superior trait and to never call in sick just for a day off is also a superior trait - so yes, that nanny is far superior to you. |
*they're - not their. Apparently others are far superior in spelling as well... |
I have a felling there are millions of nannies who are superior to PP nanny!!!

| Y'all can be so petty and catty here for no reason lol |
