I have the flu with 102 fever- MB wants me to come in tomorrow RSS feed

I was diagnosed with the flu today. Along with a 102 fever, I have severe muscle aches, runny nose and eyes, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, headaches, and diarrhea. MB says she still expects me tomorrow. I don't even get paid when I take a day off so I obviously WANT to work. I just feel way too exhausted and I don't want to infect their family. Is she being unreasonable?

You are either a troll or the most pathetic nanny on this forum.

I'm not a troll so why am I pathetic? Why are you so rude?

MB here. She is being unreasonable. Stay home.

The flu is supposed to be awful this season. I highly recommend getting on Tamiflu immediately. It only works if used early.

Clearly the nanny has a very low IQ. Here is the answer, Nanny: You don't go to work and you look for a better job with sick days. Yes, your employer is unreasonable and you are an idiot for even asking the question.

I did not go in and she was not happy. The good news is I have an interview with a family willing to pay more plus benefits! I took this job because I really liked the family and needed something until I found a better position.

Of course your MB is being unreasonable. She only cares about herself and her own needs. Find a nicer MB. Good luck with the interview.

Rest up & do not let your current NF stress you out because you are ill.

It is entirely on HER to have a Plan B in place in case you cannot come in.

Nannies can fall ill at any time + the Mother should have taken this into account when she hired you.

Her fault, surely not yours.

Make sure you aren't sick anymore when you interview! Oh, and until you're over the flu, stay home!
