| He never speaks to me. Only says hi and bye. It is quite strange. My old DBs would engage in polite conversation. Is this common? |
|
DB's are for the most part very awkward in my opinion.
Mine always was until I got upset in front of him over something and he hugged me and it seemed to bring us a bit closer. Just keep doing your job well. Doesn't sound personal to me. Some just don't know what to say or how to relate to the nanny. |
This. My husband is the sweetest guy in the world- he would give you the shirt off his back if you were in trouble. He's very shy though. Culturally it's acceptable for him to be this way. It's actually a sign of respect. I wouldn't worry about it. Some dbs can be flirty or talk too much. |
| I have noticed that as well and I don't pay attention to it any more. |

Men in general are not great re: conversations.
They likely are leaving all that between you + the wife. Or if you are younger, thinner and/or prettier than the missus he likely is not speaking to you very much just to avoid the "hot" Nanny situation. |
I'll bet he's really shy. Nice that he says hi and bye since that means he makes a point of acknowledging your presence. |
| I've never had to deal with it, but I'm upfront that I won't work with a family if I can't have a decent conversation with either parent about their child. Hi and bye would not cut it from me, from either the mother or father, but I would have known that from the interview. |
| I would understand. Some people are shy not because they don't like you. Fun fact: heard that on average men speak about 7000 words per day and women at least 19000. |
