We're looking for a full time nanny, our current nanny is great but only available part time at this point. For nannies, is this a decent offer? Never had a full time nanny so not sure what to offer.
One child, 18 months Tuesday - Friday, 10 hours a day/40 a week guaranteed, overtime will be paid but in my 15 months of using a nanny I have never been late Drive child to classes twice a week (around 5 miles round trip for both days), reimbursed at Fed rate Fold child's laundry and clean up after child (play areas, room), rinse child's dishes (no washing, just get food off) No meal prep, I make all meals and snacks, just heat and serve Paid federal holidays if they fall on working day Paid snow days, we follow the OPM schedule 80 hours PTO. Paid out at end of year if not used. $20.00/hr |
$20,after taxes right!? |
No jobs pay after taxes. It is a reasonable offer. |
You're either a sarcastic MB or an unrealistic nanny. I think the former because I laughed when I read it. OP, I think that's a solid offer and you'll have plenty of takers. |
| Very reasonable |
| yes, I would take the job! |
| I would, are you looking for someone right now, if so may I have your email address. Thanks |
| Seems reasonable to me, but I would hate it. I prefer at least two kids, and I love to cook with/for them. |
| Need to see $2/hour raise scheme in the contract. |
| I have a college degree and preschool teaching experience as well as five years of nanny experience -- for me the hourly rate is way too low. My current job, with a now 16 month old whom I have care for since birth, pays $27 an hour. 40 hours a week guaranteed and 15 vacation/sick days a year plus most federal holidays. In lien of a raise this year, my employers will be providing my health insurance. |
| I highly doubt the above poster ^^ makes twenty-seven dollars an hour unless she also cleans, does family laundry and grocery shops/cooks too. |
| For comparison, I work in NW DC, make $25/hr and don't fold laundry or do dishes (no chores.) Can you find a nanny for $20 an hour? Sure. But not a good one. |
+1 |
No, I do not clean, do family laundry or cook for the family. I do laundry and cook for my charge only. Send me your email address and I will forward a copy of my check stub to prove my salary. |
| That's a very fair, competitive offer for a very standard position OP. The only thing you don't offer is more hours, but your hourly rate is highly competitive (at least in the close-in DC suburbs where I live) and you will be flooded with qualified candidates. |
