Does everyone have off today?

| Its not, many have to work. Some people can use it as a floating holiday and take another day off. |

| No I am working we put the kids in sports daycamp. I work in the newsroom, no holidays off unless you ask weeks in advance. |

| It's not a paid holiday in my contract, and I usually work it (past 2 years with same family I have), but I asked to take it off unpaid and was told yes. So happy!! Really needed the 3 day weekend and got lots done at home. |

| Ds' nanny worked. I'm an RN so holidays don't really exist. Dh had to work as this isn't one of the Fed holidays he gets off. There are 3 Fed holidays he has to work and nanny knows it. Gets compensated accordingly and sometimes my schedule works out enough that she gets the day or half day off anyways. |

I thought it was off by my family called me wondering where I was. I told them it was a major holiday and I was at my friend's house.
They said I needed to come in, they had to go to work, or they would hire a sitter and deduct it from my Monday pay. So I told them I was sick. SHall see today if I get paid or not! |

Seriously? None of my non fed friends are off and my company doesn't give this day off. I would be so pissed if I was your mb and you clearly didn't read your contract and didn't show up and then called in sick when you clearly are not with no notice. That's just rude. |

You sound like a dishonest, unreliable scamming person, whether this was MLK Monday or Inauguration Friday. No, everyone does not have MLK day off, or Inauguration Day off, or Teacher Professional Days off, or Patriot's Day off, or their Birthday off, etc. etc. etc. etc. Love how instead of checking the week before you just try to pull a fast one. Way to lose all credibility in your word. "My friend has off so I assume I did too." Are you like 8 yo? |
