I searched this board (and google!) but can't seem to find the answer to this question. 2016 was my first year as a domestic employer in DC. I did not use a service because my nanny was already set up making quarterly estimated payments (fed & DC) from her previous employer. I'm trying to figure out how to file/report W2 info to DC (my nanny is also a DC resident). I understand how to file federally (to the social security administration). I have an account with DOES and filed that quarterly but I'm assuming there is something else I need to do to report the W2 info to DC - am I correct? Thanks in advance! |
If your nanny pays her stste taxes (DC) herself, she will report them herself and mail in the correct copy of her W2. |
OP here - that's true but I would still think DC would want to hear from me, the employer, especially because e-filing doesn't require the actual paper submission of a W2. I will call DC and ask... |
