Why would anyone mix whites with dark colored clothing? I just can't! I can't! |
Oh, God... Get over it, Drama Queen. |
Stop hiring children or undocumented foreigners who don't know how to do laundry or work modern washing machines. |
She is American. Born and raised. For a while I was wondering why the whites were getting discolored. So this AM I needed something from the basement and I saw the white and darks including towels in the dryer! |
Try doing your own laundry and let your nanny care for your child. |
How do you know if that wasn't kids laundry? |
Her mother never taught her how to do laundry correctly. My nanny did the same until I went over it with her. She doesn't have any kitchen skills either. Had a single bipolar mother. |
Once I moved into a rental in an apartment building and had to pay to do my laundry I started mixing all my clothes together. The only "whites" I have are t-shirts that I wear to work out or on the weekends, so if they're not bright white it doesn't matter, but I have noticed them getting particularly faded. |
Horrors. |
True but we have been with her for 2.5 years. Her mom passed when she was 13. But still? Her response was they were just a few whites! Normally we do Laundry on Thursdays. If the load is not big either for whites or darks we skip that week. We have separate laundry baskets for colors and whites. |
Lots of people mix their loads. I do. I'm 43 and unless I have something new that hasn't been washed a couple of th
Es yet, everything goes in together. Generally, I don't have enough to do two separate loads and I don't own enough to go two weeks without doing laundry. It silly to me not to mix them. I mix the kids laundry too and have never once had a parent complain or tell me I'm doing it wrong. |
I have noticed that with the family I nanny for, the mom mixes all colors together. On the rare occasion that I do laundry at their house I separate it, but wonder if it annoys mom that I do it that way, since it takes two loads to get the laundry done if you separate it.
I think we should all count our blessings if mixed laundry is the most horrible thing happening in our lives. |
When you are paid to do a job you do it the way your employer wants it not your way. Some things are just common sense or lack of |
not when they're nitpicking over every little thing. At some point you have to realize the boss is on the crazy train and get on with your day. |
Nanny here and I also mix colors. I told my bosses that's how I do it and they are fine with it. I am not a laundress. It makes no sense for me to leave twin toddlers unsupervised while I run to the basement to rotate 3 loads of laundry each week when I can simply wash dark and light clothes and linens together. I wash it all on delicate and have never had anything bleed (although I do wash brand new stuff separately a few times). |
