I'm a first-time mom and have a nanny starting next week and wondered if anyone has a sample nanny diary to share -- or a link to one they like. Also, did you create a chart for your nanny with activities listed, or is this micro-managing? DD is 6 months old.
Thank you for any input. |
Did you give her a copy of your current routine? |
Agree with PP I would give an idea of his current routine and things he seems to enjoy
Write down the times he naps and for how long, maybe some outside suggestions like going for walk, going to a library to look at books that type of thing. Then in the afternoon suggestions for things at home, sing songs, play on floor, look at books etc. |
In the past I've used a simple notebook. I write down what was eaten, diaper activity, sleep and any issues or concerns.
Giving her a routine on paper that the baby already has is very helpful. |
I found some good examples online and on Pinterest (Google around), but I eventually settled on a pretty basic sheet that has sections for:
- Notes from parents - Bottles (what time and how many oz) - Solids (what time and what foods) - Naps (start and end times) - # of poopy diapers - Notes from nanny We just print out a bunch of copies of this and then use a new one each day. I also printed out the calendar for baby story time at our library. |
Google nanny log. Pick one that's straight forward and withought a lot of chaos on the page. Use it as a starter and then use a simple notebook once the routine is down. |
And you fill out a sample log with a recent day's activities as well as hove your routine on a separate paper with any additional notes you want her to have handy. |
