Family I work with has an amazing grandma who lives nearby and takes the kids for a few hours 2X per week. She is a former preschool teacher and has always been really nice but recently has been acting weird like she is marking her territory or something. She overheard me talking to MB about potty training and interrupted to tell us how much experience she has in that area. That's great and I'd love her thoughts but I was literally mid-sentence.

When I do art projects with the kids she often reaponds by telling me that she has done that project before dozens of times, etc. I genuinely like and reapect her but I just don't know how to break out of this dynamic.

Grandparents, when they are present....Are the W-O-R-S-T!
Bar none.

I don't think there is really much you can do now since at this stage in her life, she is truly set 100% in her ways & is highly unlikely to change her ways

Make a point to ask her each day you see her how she did things. This is how to help her feel valued for her knowledge and experience. Just let her talk about it.
