| Is it normal to reimburse the nanny for miles to drive to your house? Nobody pays for me to drive to work. Sheesh! |
| No. It's not even legal, in fact, unless you are counting it as taxable compensation. |
No,you pay miles for her if she's use her car for your kids. |
| You only pay mileage once she's there, unless she picks up your kid at school or something first. |
| Sometimes if a family moves far away from a nanny, they offer something to compensate for a longer commute, but that's an unusual circumstance. |
And the key is that that is compensation, not reimbursement. |
Do you get health insurance? Does the nanny? |
We both get health insurance (well, mine is not fully covered by my employer but hers is). What does that have to do with the question? |
We don't get employer health insurance. Not everyone does. Why should someone be paid to commute to work. I would not agree to that. |
Perhaps she can get a higher paying job that covers her travel costs. Who knows? |
|
No, you are absolutely not obligated to reimburse a nanny for any mileage accrued on her commute to + from your house.
If you do, then it is a very generous benefit (for her!) |
Depends on the total benefits package. |
| I don't know anyone in any field who is reimbursed for their commute. Definitely not normal. |
I know lots of people who get preloaded Metro cards. |
