Negotiating Program Fees? RSS feed

Has anyone had luck negotiating program fees? It seems like rates are similar but the discounts are so wide and varied, it seems like there's a lot of wiggle room. Also, I'm looking at APIA and APC. Thanks.

We have had a lot of luck negotiating fees between APIA and CCAP. CCAP has lower fees, so we have gotten APIA to lower their rates to match. This works best when you're still in matching, but before you have found the candidate you want from one or the other agency.

We had a terrible experience with APC and do not recommend them at all, FWIW.

Good luck.

Thank you for the tip. I think we will cast a wider net in hopes of finding the right match, versus a good LCC. My wife was an au pair and so I hope we can make the AP feel more at home.

hi, from what I saw online the cost is identical in both places ~18,900.
How much discount were you able to get from Au Pair in america? what is reasonable to ask?

The program fees are what is different. We negotiated APIA down to almost match CCAP's fees (I think it was a $100 difference by the end - not enough to matter).

Thanks for the feedback!

I think you transposed APIA and CC. I didn't calculate it but CC was lower or the same with APIA and yet your total has CC higher by like $400

Sorry, I missed some sum rows for APIA (fees I found out about later)

No one in their right mind pays an application fee. Ever.

This is very helpful. Lots be nice to include some of the other agencies, and also include to max amount of discounts for each.

There are usually promo codes that waive them but I didn't include them or other discounts here. And, really, it's so little that it's not worth making such critical statements about.

With Interexchange and contemplating going with APIA. Has anyone negotiated more than the match fee ($425). The program fee is about $2000 more with APIA. Just curious what to ask for. We like an au pair with APIA and want to make an offer soon.

We have worked with Expert AuPair. They are a smaller company based out of Florida and their fees are significantly less. Our current au pair is in rematch, the next family would "only" have to pay $4400 to bring her on for a year.
