Hi All,
I recently has a custody case and my lawyer charged me 233K for a period of nine months. He refuses to negotiate . Has anyone ever had a similar experiences? What do you think I should do??

This might be the highest custody case ever in this area??

I signed a retainer- not for 233K in fees.

Weren't you getting monthly bills that show breakdowns either in six or ten minute increments of what the lawyer was doing on your case?

Your first bill should not come after nine months.

There is no lawyer in this galaxy that would wait 9 months before s3being a bill and there is no lawyer who ever lived who would let his bill to run up to this amount.

Not OP, but when we did our adoption we had an retainer agreement for x amount with notification when they reached that amount, etc. and they didn't. They were very slimy and when we got that bill, we changed attorneys and the new attorney looked at the agreement and said we are not responsible to pay. However, we are talking far less money. OP, if you are for real, which I doubt, then you need to consult an attorney.
