home with the flu, how long should I take off?

So, I am rarely out sick, I have worked with this family for 3 years. I went to work Monday, took of tues, and today. I feel a little better today, but could probably use one more day off. I had a high temp, and have been achy and just weak. Family has a 3.5 yr old and 6mo old. So not only could I use another day, but I Def don't want to get the baby sick. How can I word a text to my boss, saying I need another day off, but that I am feeling somewhat better?

I would say exactly what my symptoms were and leave it up to my employer, especially with an infant.

I came down with the flu--102 fever. All day Saturday, body ached so much Breathing was painful, coughing, sneezing. By Tuesday, I got dressed and finally feel like my old self today. You stay home until you feel like you can work the entire day without being exhausted.

I've been very sick since Sunday. Fortunately, I have no fever so I haven't had to call off work. I feel like crap tho and really wish I could take a day off. If you need one more day, take it OP.

+1. PP, take responsibility for yourself. Are you too sick to work? Then you call in sick. Don't try to make this your employers problem. Of course they would prefer you to do your job rather than not. They aren't in your body and they don't know how you feel. It's so immature. (And $10 says the next day you post on here saying, "I've got the flu and my employer wants me to work!")

I'm a live-in nanny. Unless I'm physically incapable of getting out of my bed, I offer my employer the choice.

MB here. Why not just call your boss? You don't need to worry about perfect wording then because any questions can be easily answered. And they will hear how crummy you still sound, but yes it's okay to call out of work. It's on them to have a backup plan.

I would fire you because I want a nanny with common sense and common sense dictates that you stay home until you are well!
