| I have not seen my taxes going on 2 years now. I am 23 years old, and did not receive a w-2 from the day care center that I worked sta few years back. I still made it my business to file that I worked there because I did. Now I am afraid to file again this year because the same thing will probably happen. It's very stressful etc. because I am not a scammer and under any circumstances do I do anything under the table to get extra money back. How don't resolve this issue? The Irs seems to not have the answers. Being that I am young they may think that I am not aware of how they operate, although I am where could I have gone wrong or does things like this happen everyday? PLEASE HELP I am trying to stay debt free as much as possible as I do not come from a wealthy setting! Also the daycare center is no longer open due to poor management ! |
| Did you contact your employer? Is it the same place? How are you paid (checks, cash?) Remember employers have until 1/31 to mail W-2s... |
yes, there was extremely poor management. They even did their own payroll. It was my first real job, and I was only 19. I was not aware of any of this until a year later. Once I gained knowledge of what was really going on I decided to leave. There were times when we'd receive bounced checks. We would have to wait 1-2 months to receive payroll. Sometimes they would give us cash as well. I did however report them to secure that I did work there. Now I'm just looking at the clock tick tock each day with out a clue in the world ! |
| Who are you working for now? Another daycare? A nanny family? |
Oh god I hope shes not taking care of any children on her own.... |
I have been a nanny since I left the daycare center. I still work as a nanny ! |
I'm confused. Are you waiting on a w-2 from the daycare or your MB/DB? |
|
Op, take a moment and reassemble your thoughts and please write something easier to understand.
You say the original issue with daycare was when you were 19. You are 23 now but You said you haven't paid taxes in 2 years...but it has been 4 since you worked at the daycare. Have you paid taxes at any other job? What happened 4 years ago really doesn't matter. You need to get your shit together for this year. Are you paid on the books? Did you agree to this when you were hired? Have you asked your boss about it? My W2 is just becoming available this week so it's not like they are late. Please write back being more coherent so we can help |
| Op, did you agree to be paid under the table for this job? Have you discussed this with your employer? They are not late giving you your W2 forms so if you agreed to be paid on the books then ask your bosses when it will be available. Now if you agreed to be paid under the table then you have a lot to learn |
| Your employer has until January 31st to get your W-2 in the mail. One week later, if you haven't received it, contact your employer. If you still don't receive it, contact the IRS. I've had to do this once, for an employer (I wasn't employed as a nanny) who said they mailed it and were unwilling to provide a back-up copy. I filed the week before tax day with a missing W-2. |
Maybe you should re-read and try to understand what is going on instead of judging my situation. I reported this very issue to the Irs. They were already contacted by the Irs concerning this issue. I still filed using forms that the Irs provided for me to cover everything on my end. The daycare did sometimes pay us in cash. They even did their own payroll. It was under poor management (AS I STATED)! Every job that I have had since then I have never had an issue with my w-2 forms. I am not the only employee with a missing w-2 and tax issues. I am asking for advice. I have not received my taxes going on 2 years. That's a red flag for me ! |
Not at all, I had no idea what kind of operation that they were running until things began happening while I was still working there, we did not have contracts etc. We didn't even have handbooks. The staff pretty much ran the center. |
What do you mean you hope I am not taking care of any children on my own? I am a nanny, one of the best in Washington, DC I have lots of families that love me. Instead of being judge-mental how about trying to help. Maybe if people like you would change your way of thinking the world would be a better place!

Never mind the asshole on these threads. She's consistently unhinged. |
| Um Were taxes being withheld on your pay stub? Op are you sure you're 23? |
