| I've been contacted by a mom on Sittercity to assist her with her 3 kids, all under 3 for roughly 4 hours 2-3 days per week, they are a 30 min drive away from me. She says I'll just be assisting her, but from experience.. I know I'll be doing all of the work; she's just home (from MY experience!) what would you nannies or sitters charge ? No housekeeping work outside of regarding to the Kids. Thanks ! |
| $20/hour. With some variation depending where you are (NYC versus West Virginia for example.) |

$20-30/hour.
1. 3 under 3 is enough to require $20+, regardless of whether a parent is home. 2. 4 hours, 2-3 days is very part-time. If they want you to reserve the time for multiple days, they need to set a guaranteed minimum per week. I would ask for $200 guaranteed each week, and ask that the days be set that you need to be available. So, it you agree to be available Mon-Thurs from 9 am to 2 pm for 2 or 3 shifts of 4 hours for $200, but she needs you earlier, later or on Friday, she pays more. If she needs you for 3 or 4 shifts, she needs to pay more. |
Thanks! I was thinking the same and around $22/hour even if she's actively helping out. |

Smart girl OP!! You are right, you WILL be most likely doing more than this mother lets on. People tend to use the generic term "helper" to make a job appear easier than it will really be.
I say charge minimum $17/Hr. |
| I was thinking $22, but it depends on where. |
