Our nanny just started in October. Everywhere I read that she should get a weeks pay for bonus but my husband thinks that's crazy since she's only been with us 3 months. Would $250 be reasonable? |
Divide her week's salary into fourths. Give her one fourth, since she's worked one fourth of the year. That would be totally reasonable. |
Of course I wouldn't expect or assume a week's pay for only 3 months of employment.
I think a prorated amount makes total sense. I think $250 is quite generous. |
Yes, that is completely reasonable. |
We gave our nanny 1/2 a week's salary as a bonus even though she had been a part-time babysitter (helped me out during my maternity leave) for us for about a month before the year's end. She was coming on as a FT nanny for us in January, and we thought it would foster good will. She was very surprised and happy to receive it. |
I paid the full week - reasoning was thinking ahead to next year rather than what she'd already done. We really want to keep her. Also a bargain compared to agency fees ![]() |
How has her performance been thus far?
If she has been superb, I would give her $200/Cash. Give or take since I am not sure how much she is earning. |
