I've spoke with the unemployment office and it seems I would qualify based on my employers cutting my hours. I will be losing a whole day and will get benefits until I can fill the opening.
Has anyone ever done this? Can my employers fire me for collecting due to their cutting hours? Does it effect them? |
| Open here. In title No should be NF. |
| They can fire you over collecting, but it isn't ethical, and then you are eligible to draw more unemployment. |
| If you quit then you collect unemployment. Cutting your hours is a valid reason for quitting but you must quit.. You cannot continue working for them and draw unemoyment for the hours they have cut. |
According to what OP said, she's eligible now for unemployment to make up part of what she's losing. |
Of course you can collect for reduced hours while still working. |
| 9/10 you will not get unemployment if you quit. If your fired, laid off or hours are cut you can get it. If they fire you for getting unemployment then you can collect more |
