What strollers do you recommend or products do you suggest?

A sturdy double stroller, with a plastic cover for misty/rainy days, and with sunshades that fit (one can be down while the other goes up, and it doesn't knock the clip off); no umbrella strollers! It's best if the stroller is easy to store and open, but it's not imperative, I prefer durability to convenience. My preference is that stroller have a sturdy handle so that the diaper bag can hang over it, or have good storage underneath.

Why no umbrella strollers pp? I'm a Nanny to twins also in the city and we love our side by side umbrella stroller; it's so lightweight and easy to use on public transit. Just curious why you're against one.

I prefer a stroller which can grow with the kids, and I don't like umbrella strollers to grow with twins. I have had a few times where one twin was awake and jerked towards something she wanted and the other woke crying. That doesn't happen with a sturdy stroller.

good solid stroller (side by side is best IME) AND a light weight stroller that can easily go on buses.

As they get older and want to walk more, a leash system might be good though I haven't used one yet; only in my fantasies.

bottle/cup leash so you can tether it to the stroller so if they pitch it over you won't be chasing it down the sidewalk.
