GMA had a clip this morning on parents hiring a PI to follow the nanny and charge(s). Any thoughts?

Sure, if you're stupid enough to hire a cheap non-professional, do whatever you can to catch her doing something dumb.

When my mother told me over the weekend that it was going to be on this morning, I was astounded. Then I thought about it. My new theory is that if my bosses want to waste money to see what I do, fine. I know what my position requires, and I do it (or more), and I don't do anything that is controversial without permission from the parents.

You are so naïve. Expensive nanny also do dumb things with their charge.

Please give us a link for one single well-paid professional nanny on the news for mistreating her charge. Thank you.

All the ones I've seen are foreign and certainly not professional nannies.

Did the investigations into them turn up forged/absent licenses or school transcripts? Oh wait...

Amazing how these parents will spend whatever it takes to maintain their 'cheap nanny employer' status. Unbelievable. Then they'll scream bloody murder when they find abuse or neglect. Amazing.

What did they expect?

I find it complete overkill to hire someone to follow your nanny.

There has to be a certain level of trust on the parent's side, otherwise, why have a child when you know you will not be able to stay home & raise it yourself?

Working parents would much prefer to focus 100% on their careers during the day, not waiting to see what a P.I. can dig up.

I have nothing at all to hide, yet would be very offended if I knew I was being followed just because.

It would even be a huge deal-breaker in my book.

Don't they cost $300-500/hr? Maybe get a professional nanny instead.
