| Is there a right time to tell your part time family that you have decided to take a full time job in the fall? I'm really struggling on when and how to tell them. I adore the family it's simply a money move. |
| No. But let them know now so they have ample time to get someone else. |
|
The right time would be as soon as you know 100% that you will take the new job and have already accepted.
Since you say you will begin your new full-time position this Fall, I highly advise you to tell your current family stat. This will minimize any hard feelings as well as provide them enough time to find a nanny as good as you! |
| Just give your current family enough time to find your replacement. No one will ever begrudge you the chance for full time employment. Get your new position and give your agreed upon notification. |
| Sure, tell them now, but can you afford to be let go immediately if they're angry about it?? |
| OP here. I should have stated I will give them at least a months notice! I am waiting to sign a contract with my full time employee first! |
So you answered your own question. A months notice is plenty. |
