Hype or helpful

Would you pay to have someone write up a nanny contract?
Anonymous
Depends where you're coming from, OP.
Anonymous
I wouldn't. I found lots of good sample contracts online and I took pieces of several of them to build my own. I then let our nanny review it and see if she wanted to add/revise anything and we have a good working document that we all agreed to.

No, DH is a lawyer and I'm not too much of an idiot. Either of us could take an hour and create one.

OP here how would you feel if your nanny presented you with a contract she wanted?
Anonymous
What kind of research are you trying to do here OP?
Anonymous
Most professional nannies do have a contract draft they've used before.

OP's contract doesn't have sufficient protections for the nanny.

I wouldn't.

Because in the event that one side breaches it, most likely it will not stand up on a court of law since a judge cannot rule that a person is obligated to provide a service to the other.

Plus, any employment in the U.S. is "at-will."
