Why would NF ask me this weird question? RSS feed

Had an interview today. Towards the end MB asked " Why are you on X site. Are you on any other sites?" I gave an answer but she didn't follow up as to why she asked that. I thought it was weird. I'm on that site because it's a nanny site and I'm applying to jobs. It's self-explanatory I thought. Maybe you guys can offer insight.

I wouldn't overthink this. Maybe she just meant why that site over others. Don't worry about it.

Anyone else?

Nanny sites have different options - for petsitting, elderly care, housekeeping, etc.

Is it possible she thought you were looking for a different kind of job and had your profile under each one?
Let's say you wanted to do elderly care but you were without a job so you created a profile under each one to see which one came first?
I guess in her mind it could make sense if she thought you only wanted to take that job until you found something else.

Or maybe she wanted to hear exactly what you were looking for, let's say "I'm on X site to find a long term position..." vs "I need some extra money so I can travel in August" or whatever.

Or she might be worried that after you accept her job, you will keep looking until you find something better.

I usually tell families I use X/Y sites to find extra babysitting jobs (or petsitting.)
That way if they come across my profile, they know exactly why I'm there.

The only profile I have is my any profile and it explicitly details what I'm looking for.

She probably was asking because she was just curious...To look at your profile on other websites if you have them for public viewing.

I wouldn't think too much about this question though. Just satisfying her own curiosity I suppose.

Its strange considering she's on that site. I wasn't really sure of she meant it in a derogatory or disrespectful way, but it was so odd.

That is the only site I'm using. To ask why I'm on there is strange. Clearly I'm on there to get a nanny job, as my profile states. Then to ask me of I'm on others is strange too.
