Switching from daycare to nanny RSS feed

We were originally planning to put baby #2 in daycare with baby #1, who is now a toddler. Baby #2 is not off the wait list which led us to interviewing Nannies at the same time work has become more demanding and for the first time, daycare nor meeting all our needs. We have found a great nanny but I am very conflicted about pulling our older child from daycare to stay with nanny when he loves going there and his teachers. Financially it makes no sense not to do so and without daycare commute times I will get more time with both kids, but I just hate rocking the boat and having our toddler feel like something has been taken away! Anybody make a similar move that can help me feel better about this!?

While your second child may miss going to his daycare for a little while, hopefully this new nanny can fill in some of the blanks for him during the day.

If she drives, I would encourage her to take your son to many kid-friendly venues during the day as well as some toddler classes if feasible.

Another nice thing would be if your son can be involved in some play dates too as well.

I am quite confident that in no time your second child will adapt well to his new situation.
