| I took on a summer gig with 2 kids, 12 hour days. If my financial needs weren't so bad, I wouldn't accept something like this. However, for 5 hours of the day, I'll have just the 2 year old boy. What activities would you recommend? I figured maybe swim lessons, painting, drawing, going to the park and reading, what else would you all recommend ? I nannied a girl previously, her interests were slightly different and I only worked 8 hours per day! From 1/1:30 both kids will nap so I will have a little break, but I need to keep the day interesting for myself and the kids during our long days. Thanks! |
| Have you ever worked with children? |
if you're not going to answer the post, don't reply dumbass |

Play doh, puzzles, fort building, music hour at the public libraries, National Building Museum, local community center/park/wildlife centers in your county, splashparks, sprinker or kiddie pool in the backyard, zoo, etc...
You have two kids who are both mobile and verbal to some extent, and with synchronized naps - so that's half the battle. A 12 hour day is long, but nothing else about the job seems particularly remarkable OP. What you would do with either child is likely to interest the other to at least some degree. |
Op here: thanks! Oldest kid will be in camp, so I'll have the youngest for a good portion of the day. You gave great pointers, I appreciate it

Check out some library resources for activities - Toddler Busy Book has some games, some crafts, some songs, and isn't a bad starter for someone new to toddler/preschool care.
Throwing on a swimsuit and making goop in the yard is fun, as is making (at home) a plaster of Paris dinosaur dig they can excavate. You can also bury "treasures" in his sandbox and dig them out. Use chalk to draw roadways and race matchbox cars in the driveway. Library story time. |
I'm just trying to get a little bit of context so as not to suggest something outside of your realm. |
