I am a nanny who works six days a week (about 60 hours total) with two 19 month old toddlers and have only one full day off. I seem to do nothing but laundry, cleaning and prepping for the week on my day off. I know I could organize my time better during the week t get this stuff accomplished and have one totally free day.
If you had only one day off a week, what would you do to reenergize and relax? |
| I would do asich as I could on evenings after work and then on the day off spend half the day on chores and errands so by noon I could relax whether that's getting together with friends or vegging in front of TV or going to work out or a combo of all. |

Well considering the fact that you work such LONG hours, by the time you get home the last thing on your mind is housework, laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, running errands, etc., right? All you probably want to do is watch the news and put on your PJs and go right to bed.
So the only time you have for yourself is usually that one day per week that you spend cleaning and doing your laundry. If you want to do a little bit of cleaning every day, then that would be one option. Or can you afford to outsource your cleaning to another person? That way, you can have your day to yourself to relax, read a book, have lunch with a good friend or just go out and take a nice hike or bike ride. Priceless. |
| Today is my only day off too, OP and I am writing from my bed where I intend to spend the entire day. My body needs the break from the needs of very active charges and my voice needs a rest. By about 8PM tonight, I will start looking forward to seeing their little faces tomorrow and be happy to go to work tomorrow morning. As a nanny I never have Monday Morning Blues! |
