My nanny works Monday through Thursday and makes a few of DD's staple items for her that she eats everyday - such as homemade greek yogurt, cut up and steamed vegetables (that we give her to keep her happy while we're making her meal) or stewed and pureed prunes for her breakfast (needed to keep her pooping regularly). But often the nanny won't make enough to get us through the weekend.
Nanny used to make enough frozen pureed foods for DD's meals on weekends but now often doesn't with just her refrigerated foods. Is this something we can ask the nanny to make sure she does? |
| No. |

I think that's pushing it OP. Basically you're saying the nanny is responsible for the bulk of your child's meals, whether or not she's actually working.
Offer to pay her a bit more if you want her to think about a 7day/week meal plan for your kid. |
| Dear Lord, you are beyond lazy. |
OP here and I am not lazy. I don't know how to make homemade greek yogurt or fresh pureed prunes and don't have the time to peel, slice and steam vegetables. If she is making the food for four or five days, why can't she make enough to last the weekend? |
If only they sold any of these items at the store! :eyeroll: OP, if you truly think anyone is buying that you "don't have time" to STEAM VEGETABLES...let's just say that I never call troll, but I'm calling it. Offer to pay the nanny more for this added work, or just feed your kid greek yogurt and purees from the store and buy some frozen vegetables since the 5 minutes it takes to peel a carrot would apparently spoil your whole weekend. |
| If you are paying her to do this then nanny should be doing it. I would have a little talk with her and remind her exactly what her duties are and what you expect of her. Make sure she understands if she can't complete all her duties then she will be let go. |
OP here and of course I am paying her but this issue was not part of our agreement as she has been working for us since long before DD started eating solid food. So what now? |
Not OP and not a troll and I don't have time on the weekends to cut up and steam vegetables either. I don't expect my nanny to do it but not all of us have that much free time on weekends. |

You are paying your nanny to care for your child when you aren't there, OP. Not care (feed) your child when you are there.
No, I do not think you can ask her to makes sure your DD has enough prepared foods for the three days a week when you are not paying her to work for you. |
| Maybe ask her to do one of those like making more yogurt. Asking for all 3 might be pushing it. Then you can get a feel for how she feels. |
+1 It would be like saving all of DC's dirty dishes for the nanny to wash when she comes back to work three days later. Its great that your nanny prepares homemade and healthy food for your DD when she is working -- don't push it. |
| Feeding your child it YOUR JOB when your nanny isn't working, OP. |
| This could easily be solved by paying her more to do it since it is extra. It's. It is not her job, but could be if you both agree to it. If she doesn't want to, she won't. |
| Op does she make the Greek yogurt at your house or at hers ? I just googled how to make it and it takes 22.5 hours. Most of that is it sitting in an oven but still wow |
