Just curious here and other places it seems nannies have a problem with caring for more than 2 children at once.

For me it was a family with 6 children 2 sets of triplets born 5 years apart.

Really stupid question. It's so much more than just numbers.

How many families even have six children anymore?

All depends on the children and their ages.

So what is too much for you? What are your deciding factors.

Clearly you have an opinion. OR do you just prefer to be nasty?

How many years did you nanny them?

5 years full time shortly after the youngest triplets were born. I was a an occasional babysitter/ mother's helper from the time the oldest triplets were 2, so all together 8 years

It depends on the children's ages, temperament, and abilities.

I've had five school aged children in my care and it was fairly easy. Mostly tutoring and chauffeuring.

I also have had two toddlers who almost drove me mad.

Agree with this sometimes even one is too much. It's just that in every post about caring for more than 1 kid the majority of the responses make it seem like it is impossible. I do think PP was on to something in that in general families are smaller, most people are from small families with only one other sibling so even 3 kids seems like a ton. I'm one of 4 and was a preschool teacher , so I guess in general larger numbers of kids aren't scary or surprising.
Large within reason I couldn't work for a Duggar sized family!

I can comfortably care for five kids who are either well behaved or smart (hell, or both). But I only need one of those.

I will care for as many as the family has. As long as I start when the oldest is little, and am present from birth with the rest. I had a family with 4 under 4. It was fine because they all knew our routine since I had been there since the oldest was 1.5.

To be honest, I don't believe you at all.

Agreed . I prefer to grow with a family or start when the oldest is no older than 2.5

You don't have to.

Wow...That is insane OP! You couldn't pay me enough to do that job!!

I think the older the kids are, the easier the job is.

I wouldn't accept a nanny share with multiple infants, yet I wouldn't mind caring for three Elementary-aged children.

It all depends on their ages.
