Were you successful?
Did your former nanny families use your services? |
| Yes and yes. Tripled my income. |
| I would never ever ever want to start a home daycare. |
How is this helpful? OP asked for those who had started a home daycare not a survey on if you would do it or not. |
How many families did you/do you have? What ages? How did you go about pricing? Did you hire an assistant? |
| I did for 2 years, had my first child and am back to nannying. Worst experience of my life. Dealing with parents is often the worst part about childcare, now imagine dealing with 6-10 sets of parents who are cheap and try to get out of paying any way they can. |
That's what I'm worried about the extra parents. |

The worst part of running your own business, thus a home daycare is hearing the sob stories of the parents who cannot pay this week for this reason or that.
And since there are young children involved, you feel guilty denying them and disrupting their family dynamic if you can help it. |

17:10 here. I had everyone pay one month in advance, and yes, I did have an assistant. I was licensed for eight children.
Where are you located, OP? |
