I'm a new nanny so I don't what is the norm I was recently hired to care for a baby girl. I start next week, but Thursday and Friday I am coming in so mom can show me stuff and baby , and mom will leave part of the day so baby can get used to being just around me. Should I be paid for that time or not? What should I tell her?

Of course she needs to pay you, unless she's your charity of the week.

MB here. Yes, I paid for those days. Tell her you just want to confirm your paid hours begin Thursday morning at 9am so next week will just have a 16 hour timesheet or however many hours you'll be working.

Absolutely.

It is YOUR time that you are dedicating to her and that time is reserved for her. You cannot work for anyone else or accept another gig for those days and hours so yes, make sure that you get compensated.

Yes you would/should be paid. I'm an MB also and I agree with the 21:28's approach - just tell her you want to confirm your paid hours.
