I am trialing for a very rich family. I have experience as a nanny, however this will be a big step up for me.
I'm curious what questions or clarification I should ask for that wouldn't come up with a more average family? Privacy concerns? Travel compensations? (With the family) I would like to make sure to cover all the bases beforehand to alleviate any issues down the road. Any advice of things I may not have considered would be appreciated. |
| Let's put it this way, if you feel the need to put something in writing with this family that's a sign things won't work out well. |
One of the more ridiculous statements I've seen on here, which is saying something. |
| Tell them you're open to signing a confidentiality agreement. Ask them about working while traveling. Do not use the word "compensation". |

I don't have a contract with my wealthy family. I don't think payment will ever be an issue as they go above and beyond every time. Hypothetically, even if there were a time where they remembered wrong and paid me for an hour or two less than I worked I wouldn't bring it up since I am WAY more than ahead according to my stated salary.
And for everything else it's just never been an issue and i feel bringing it up would make things awkward. They always overcompensate me on trips, they pay for everything, they hand me my tickets a month before, we eat together at restaurants, plus I have had a credit card they gave me for 3 years and they have never once questioned anything I have put on it. My suggestion is skip the agreement and be happy with your family. |
