My charge is 15 months old and I have been his nanny since his birth. On Friday, he called me "ma nanny" (for "my nanny") and it warmed my tired, Friday afternoon, heart!

OP here and I asked to be called Nanny ___ [name]. It is my preference and the parents obliged. I have always referred to myself to him as "Nanny".

I am a doctor. My patients call me "Doctor". My nanny is a nanny. My children call her "Nanny Mary".

Mary asked to be called Nanny Mary. We suggested Miss Mary or Miss Smith and she said she wanted Nanny Mary.

What about being called "Doctor" or "Coach" or "Professor"?! For God's sake, learn from your errors, PP!! Don't just keep repeating the same thing over and over again. You have been proven wrong.

My charge came up with the nickname "Bonny" on his own - my name sounds nothing like Bonny. Then one day he said, "Bonny Boo I wuv you". Such a doll baby!
