How do I allow the nanny to sign things? RSS feed

Anonymous
Twice in the last week, I have had to make an extra trip to fill out paperwork for kids' activities. Normally, I go to at least the first session of things (I WAH) and can sign them up on the spot, but I am 9 months pregnant and can't do any of the mommy-and-me stuff right now.

Is there any way that the nanny could sign permission slips and such? Payment is not a problem -- she has a card or I could send a blank check. I have to assume that many of you are working all day and can't run over to Gymboree or wherever to fill things out, so what do you do if they want a parent's permission and won't do it online or over the phone?

Write up a statement authorizing her to do this sort of thing and get it notarized with your husband.

I used to work at Gymboree, and we had no problem sending initial paperwork home with nanny to be signed by parents. If you're anxious about it, try calling or e-mailing these places first, let them know you won't be able to make it in and ask that they either allow nanny to sign for you or send home any paperwork with her for you.
