Is an annual raise typically given at the start of each calendar year, or on the nanny's work anniversary? Our nanny just started this past September. We did not give her a raise in the new year (and she has not asked for one)- but should we offer a $1 raise? Or wait until September? She is full-time and has guaranteed hours, vacation and sick days, and a healthcare stipend, if that makes a difference. |
You wait until the first year mark, but you can start discussing it sooner. Let her know what you'd like to offer, and see if she wants to stay on. |
We do it on the anniversary of employment. |
Anniversary of employment. First of the year would be ridiculous if she was just hired in November or December. |
