Nannies, do you ever have one these days? RSS feed

Where you just wish work would fly by and be over with? My NF is so amazing and my charge is a blast. He is the sweetest and easiest 5 month old. He took to me right away and only fusses when he is about to go down for a nap. I always look forward to work and sometimes wish I had a second extra when its time to leave. I haven't all had such great employers so I think that is a huge reason for me being so happy with them. Some other families, I would dread going to work and felt the time went by so slow. I couldn't wait to leave.

But today, I can't wait for it to be 4:30. The day ( and my charge) is still very easy but I just want to get to my evening plans. Sometimes I feel bad that I feel like this because my charge is not getting 100% of my attention ( I feel). Do you ever have one of these days?

We all have those days OP - regardless of profession.

Don't sweat it - you don't have to be perfect every minute of every day.

Yes, I have had days where I was counting the hours until I could leave (and I love my charge) but I was never less than 100% at making sure he was safe and cared for, although I wasn't at 100% with energy or imagination!

Of course! Try to come with an activity or something that will make the time go by and get you too absorbed to think about tonight too much.

I think everyone from time to time gets this feeling, esp. on Fridays!!!! And esp. if they have evening plans to attend to.

One can love their job so much, yet we all get that restless feeling at times where we also cannot wait to get off and play.

All work and no play would make us all into boring people after all.

Hopefully by now you are having your fun.

Have a great weekend OP.

Remember: Sunday is Fun-day.

I love working and being a nanny. But everyday around 3 pm I'm ready for it to be over.
