Hiring nanny when it's only short term RSS feed

We'll need a nanny for toddler and infant starting in February. I already know that we're moving out of state at the end of the summer, so the position is only for 6-7 months. I feel guilty hiring someone knowing that it's only short term. Has anyone been in this situation before? Do you disclose this information up front?

Yes, disclose the time frame up front. No nanny job is ever going to be forever but the nanny should have the knowledge that this is temporary.

Definitely disclose it up front. You never know, you might come across the perfect candidate that, for whatever reason, also only wants to work through the end of summer.

If you think the candidate you like is really seeking long term employment, but is accepting your position because they need something "now"--consider offering a bonus for staying through the end of the contract (end of summer for you.)

It would be very deceitful not to OP. Please do not consider this.

And you can still find a good nanny if you disclose that you are hiring short-term only.

I have worked some short-term positions before and have loved them.

Tell them up front this could be the perfect situation for a nanny.

I am actually seeking such a position.
