| The first day I started with my NF MB told her daughter " are you staring at the pretty face of your new friend?", to her daughter. I have been with my NF for a month and MB has made comments similiiar such as " are you checking your pretty nanny out?" Are you looking at the pretty girl?". I understand its a nice comment but its a little weird that she I've been with them a month and she has commented about my look at least 10 times. Is there a reason she is doing this? It's a great compliment but very strange. |
|
Would you rather she call u ugly? Take it
for what it is, a compliment. |
Obviously not. I understand it's a compliment and I appreciate it but I wonder why she frequently points it out. |
|
Maybe she likes to use descriptive words
when talking with the baby. |
Exactly. And there are certainly worse ones she could use. She's just being nice. Weird thing to fixate on OP. |
| She is being sweet, but it would make me uncomfortable. |
| Yes, that's weird. I have a pretty nanny but I don't refer to her that way. |
That's what I'm saying. It's nice to get a compliment but its excessive. |
It must bother her on some level that you are young and attractive. It is also a way of objectifying you. So if the baby looks at you, it's because you are a pretty girl, not because she likes you. |
|
It could be cultural too.
Is she of a different culture? I would be flattered. My MomBoss once made a comment to me. She said she was looking out her window and saw me walking toward the house and thought, "Oh who is that cute girl walking in the neighborhood...??" before realizing it was me! But she only stated that to me once. If she said it more than once it would creep me out. |
| She's a closet lesbian or bi and has designs on you. |
OP said her MB is saying it often. What would culture have to do with it? |
|
Some cultures are like that woman and girls are constantly called beautiful.
I don't what to tell you op I can understand why it makes you uncomfortable ,but I don't why she does it or how you can stop it other than asking her to |
| She is white and American born. She is of Irish decent. |
| My guess is that she is insecure about her own looks and also about having her baby bond with another woman. |
