Must love kids... sounds like a generic care.com ad

My 2 cents: Infant twins, light housework, meal preparation, laundry help, AND groceries/errands? You might be scaring off otherwise great nannies because that sounds like a tremendous amount of work for someone watching twins.

Wish you all the best in finding someone, but that job would be too daunting to me.

How much are uou paying, 12 bucks an hour? No one legal, who has a brain, will take this job
You want too much, unless you're paying 100 bucks an hour.

1. This is a wrong forum

2. You don't say location, but provide 916 California area code. While there are people from all over on this forum, you are not likely to reach too many qualified nannies in California here. If you are looking in DC metro area, you should specify that.

3. With infant twins, your expectations should not be anything more than childcare, and maybe bottle cleaning. You can obviously mention that you are looking for Children meal prep once they are older, and maybe twin laundry as time permits, but you should not be expecting much more. As a mom of 3, I understand you need help with housekeeping, etc, but consider hiring housekeeper for it, or set your schedule so that there is enough overlap between you and the nanny so that you can get chores done.

Taking 2 infants grocery shopping is nearly impossible if you are alone.

That is why she wants the nanny to do it instead of her.

Hint: grocery delivery or one of these order online and they bring it to your (husband's mostly car services. Yes, these services require time to signup, a bit more organization, and living with apples chosen by someone else, but they were priceless with infants.

OMG, some of you are this forum are riduclous. Caring for multiples is busy and sometimes challenging, but it's not as if you can't do anything else.

I care for toddler triplets and have been with them since they were 6 weeks old. I've also cared for infant twins and another set of toddler triplets in previous positions. There are some nannies who prefer to care for multiples as we enjoy the challenge and how much fun it is to see the babies grow and interact with eachother.

A good experienced nanny will be able to juggle caring for the babies with basic nanny duties. There will be days where things are crazy and things don't get done, but overall it's doable.

I do all of the things mentioned in the ad and have since I started. Grocery shopping is hard with more than one baby and I don't do the main shopping, but I have always been able run into the store with the stroller to pick up a few things if we need them. I also made all of their baby food and now prepare all of their meals. Do their laundry, change their sheets at least once a week, keep up with their clothes as they outgrow things and the seasons change, keep diapers/wipes stocked, etc. etc. etc.

I have to agree w/the majority of posters on here OP.

This sounds like a job listing for about 4 people.

You want someone to care for two babies as well as do some "light" cleaning which is very subjective in itself. Also, you want them to do the wash, shopping and also as the children get older, you want the nanny to have some teaching responsibilities.

I hope you are offering a pretty penny for any service(s) rendered because Wonder Woman only exists in comic books.

Mom of twins here. 14:53 is who you want to hire. She's right, it can be done and there are experienced nannies out there who can do it beautifully.

I agree about not expecting much in terms of housekeeping and errand running though - that's bordering on unrealistic and will make experienced nannies question whether you might be difficult to work for.

Rate is critical. I'd expect someone like 14:53 to earn $20-24/hr, perhaps more depending on the market. Also depending on the market and your list of requirements you might find someone less experienced (or with English as a second language, or who can't drive, etc...) for $16-18/hr.

But it can be done. We hired someone when our kids were a few weeks old and she's still with us 3 years later.

FYI, it's also easier to grocery shop w/ 2 infants than with two toddlers. Anything that simplifies your life like grocery deliver, housecleaners, lawnmowers, etc... is recommended.

Congrats on the twins!

it does not sound like you are doing what OP is asking. you do not do grocery shopping as you admit (going into the store while out with the stroller to grab one of two items is not grocery shopping for a family of at least 4, as OP is asking). also all the things you list, cooking, laundry cleaning appear to be strictly related to the kids, not to the household, and agree any experienced nanny should be able to do it. but OP is looking for more. OP's post is not very clear but it sound like she may be requiring meal preparation for the family, not just for the babies, and the laundry and grocery shopping are clearly for the entire family. I am not a nanny but I would be weary. she seems to demand a lot, bordering on the unreasonable. also the lack of details (where is she? even if she is in the DC area, the area is large enough that a nanny living in Gaithesburg may not be necessarily interested in a job in Fort Washington or Alexandria - also she says that the babies will be three month old "at the time" but she does not say when, in a month? two? also, I find very funny "preference given to those who love reading to kids". are there any nannies who would state they do not love reading to kids? OP should look for a good nanny, and pay her well, limiting the nanny's work to the kids and what is related to the kids. for groceries, laundry and family meal preparation, hire somebody else.

The second part of the post is a re-post from a care.com automated ad---I've seen those exact phrases in a million job postings on care.com. It signals to me that if a family doesn't care enough to write their own ad they won't be very good employers.
