As you said you don’t get guaranteed hours or paid for inclement weather. Nannies do. These are basic standards in the nanny industry. You can become a nanny if you want.

It's actually quite sad to see that their is zero consideration towards the nanny. This is the most important person in your lives as she is caring and with your children 90% of the time. If their is inclement weather, she shouldn't be expected to risk her life so you can " get to work" even more insulting that your husband is " burnt out?" That's just crazy ! Just like my mom said when I was a mother " nobody told you to have kids ! , welcome to parenting !" So because someone is lazy , aka burnt out , the nanny has to risk her life ? Your days off, PTO etc is none of her business ! And she should not be held accountable for it!. Have some consideration and wait until roads are clear to have her come in ! Tell that lazy man to suck it up and be a parent , this is what is all about . Parents are suppose to sacrifice for their children ,not the nanny ! She's not a slave , that ship has sailed ! Geez.
